There’s more and more buzz about families resisting the commercialization of Christmas, of scaling back at the holidays. This come along with continuing economic hardship, but it’s not that alone. People are seeing the impact our commercial culture is having on children. Children watch too much television and spend too little time outdoors. They have too many toys and too little imagination. And unfortunately, some of the commercial products that are marketed specifically for children’s use – like children’s Tylenol and teething relief medications that contain Benzocaine – are actually quite harmful to kids in some instances. A child product safety lawyer specializes in such cases; they provide legal options to families whose children have been harmed by toys, medicines, or other products. Perhaps less consumerism at the holidays can protect some kids from dangerous and hazardous toys and products.
